College of Sequoias’ registered nursing program is named best for return on investment in California
VISALIA – The registered nursing program at College of the Sequoias has been named the best return on investment program in the state by the College Futures Foundation.
Dr. Jonna Schengel, dean of the nursing program, said the success of the program is a result of the dedicated faculty and a strategic plan to provide the best possible education for students.
“We are producing between 180 and 200 licensed nurses every year and we have done that in response to the desperate nursing shortage in the Valley,” Schengel said in an interview with The Sun-Gazette. “We are really proud of the work that we have done. A lot of the nurses in our area are graduates from COS.”
